Caroline and Stewart’s Archerfield House wedding

Caroline was one of the most laid-back Brides I’ve had the pleasure of working with – either that or she was covering up her nerves about the day extraordinarily well! Her and Stewart’s small intimate wedding at Archerfield House had a very few small hitches – like the appalling July weather – but nothing dampened the smiles on both their faces, and all their guests’.
The rain eventually decided it was not going to fall, and although the cold wind didn’t let up, we managed to get outside for some photos with the magnificent backdrop of the opulent Archerfield House.

North Berwick wedding photographer

Twenty five years ago, Mirren and David got married in Gullane, and held their wedding reception at the Marine Hotel in North Berwick. For their Silver Wedding Anniversary they decided to hold another party – at the same venue!
Old friends from Scotland and new friends from down south (where Mirren and David now live) all travelled to be with them and their family for the big celebration by the sea.
A short walk along the beach provided some lovely relaxed portraits of the happy couple before they welcomed their guests. And they all worked off their dinner with a fantastic ceilidh that lasted well after I had left.
They had the photos from their wedding on display and it was interesting to see how fashion has changed the photography and the subjects. Every photo in the album was a very stiff posed shot of various groups of people – and yet apart from their hair styles, Mirren and David look very much the same twenty five years on! David even claimed to be wearing the same outfit he wore on his wedding day…..

Fenton Tower, East Lothian wedding photographer

Louise and Graham’s wedding at Fenton Tower was by no means the smallest wedding I’ve photographed, but with just ten family and friends in attendance, it was definitely an intimate affair.
Their prayers to their weather gods were answered, with a beautiful East Lothian Autumnal afternoon with blue skies and not too breezy winds.
Nevertheless, hot tea and coffee were welcome after our return from Haddington Registry Office and a quick photo-shoot in the grounds of the Tower.
And since Graham and Louise first met at Salsa dancing lessons, it seemed appropriate that their impromptu first dance should be a Salsa number!
